What Is Involved In a First Service?
Any Service we do on a Harley-Davidson® bike is much more than a simple oil change.
In addition to changing the oil we do the following:
- Change Primary and Transmission fluids
- Adjust the clutch, primary chain, cables, and belt
- Lube clutch and throttle cables
- Clean or service air filter
- Check harley® brake pads and system for proper operation
- Check all electrical systems and components for proper operation
- Check to ensure battery is good and fasteners are torqued
- Check and clean spark plugs
- Check and adjust harley® motorcycle tire pressure
- And more depending on the model of bike (air suspension, spokes, radio updates, etc)
What If I Just Want My Oil Changed?
Not a problem. If you are in between services, traveling or just want to put some fresh oil in the bike, we can certainly accommodate that need. Should I Winterize My Bike If I Won't Be Riding For A Month Or Two?
Yes! There are two important things you should do before storing your bike:
- Add some type of gas stabilizer to your gas.
- Keep your battery on a Battery Tender Jr. Smart Charger. All bikes sold at Smoky Mountain Harley-Davidson® motorcycle services come equipped with the harness already connected to the battery. All you need to do is purchase the Battery Tender Jr. from either our Harley® motorcycle parts or service department and plug it in.
You can leave it plugged in all winter as the charger will never overcharge your battery.
